HBO has revealed that Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger’s upcoming television series about the 1970s New York City music scene will be titled Vinyl. The program is slated to air on the network in 2016, and will feature nine episode in its first season.

According to a press release, the show will deal with the “drug and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out.” Vinyl will star Boardwalk Empire alum Bobby Cannavale as American Century Records president Richie Finestra and Olivia Wilde as his wife, a former model and actress. Ray Ramano will appear as American Century Records’ Head of Promotions Zak Yankovich, while Andrew Dice Clay will play a radio station mogul. Mick Jagger’s son James Jagger will also be on board as Kip Stevens, the lead singer of a punk band called the Nasty Bits.

Shooting for the project will take place in New York City, and NME has confirmed that Brooklyn’s Rough Trade record shop/music venue will be used as a set for the series (the store will be turned into a Sam Goody). Vinyl has also enlisted Wolf of Wall Street / The Sopranos writer Terence Winter and Breaking Bad writer George Mastras as scriptwriters.
