Phish made their way to the Kansas City’s Starlight Theatre last night for the latest stop on their summer tour. The band opened the night with an interesting take on “Gumbo”—marking the tune’s tour debut, as well its second-ever appearance in the opening slot—that featured some clavinet work from Page McConnell during the songs closing segment. Next came standard takes “Kill Devil Falls,” “Back On The Train” and “Bouncing Around The Room” before Phish took the plunge into a relatively lengthy “Divided Sky.”

The fan favorite was followed by Phish’s debut of the Mike Gordon/Scott Murawaski-penned number “The Last Step,” a track that Gordon unveiled on his solo band tour earlier this summer. The tune preceded the newer track “Blaze On” before “Waiting All Night” and “46 Days” closed the set.

The night’s second frame began with a quick “Gotta Jibboo” that moved into “Twist” before arriving at a “The Wedge” that included a “Stash” tease. The show’s biggest jam came next, as Phish took “Down With Disease”past the twenty minute mark with an exploratory improvisational segment that seamlessly segued into a solid “Sand.” “Joy” brought then the energy level down a bit before the set wrapped up with Summer 2015’s second “You Enjoy Myself.” The show finally came to a close as Phish returned to the stage for the year’s first “Bug.”

Phish will head to Cuyahoga Falls, OH this Friday for the next stop on their tour.
