Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe served as the house band for a special late night Superjam at The Independent in San Francisco following Outside Lands Music Festival in the same city. Among the guests early on included the members of Slightly Stoopid as well as Ian Neville, who joined in for the first few tunes including a cut of Beastie Boys’ “Root Down.”

Later on in the show, Nikki Bluhm showed up to add vocals on the Rolling Stones’ “Tumblin’ Dice” before St. Paul & the Broken Bones Paul Janeway took the lead on Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” a staple in his band’s repertoire.

After playing with Bill Kreutzmann earlier in the day, Alex Bleeker returned to the stage to play “New Speedway Boogie” with KDTU. Bleeker and his band the Freaks also recently announced the future release of their third full-length LP.
