Phish will ring in the new year at a familiar location as the band confirmed today that they will indeed return to Madison Square Garden for four nights beginning December 30. The run will include a New Year’s Eve show as well as following shows on January 1 and 2. The shows mark a return to the famed New York arena after the group spent last New Year’s in Miami at American Airlines Arena.

The band’s first New Year’s show at Madison Square Garden came in 1995, with the quartet subsequently returning numerous times over the years including ‘97, ‘98, their hiatus comeback in 2002 and four straight years in the 3.0 era from 2010-2013. The band has played thirty-one shows to date at Madison Square Garden since December 1994.

A ticketing lottery is now live via Phish Ticketing. The deadline to request tickets ends on September 28 at noon, with the public on-sale taking place October 2.
