New York’s Roulette will host a musical Kol Nidre service. The service, which will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, September 22, will feature music and cantorial arrangements from The Sway Machinery’s Jeremiah Lockwood. Because Jewish’s Rabbi Dan Ain— who has curated Jewish events with numerous comedians and musicians around New York—will lead the service, which begins the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. The same team lead a Rosh Hashanah service at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl this past Monday.

Lockwood has worked with members of Antibalas, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many others and will be accompanied by keyboardist Shoko Nagai and drummer John Bollinger. In recent years, Rabbi Dan and Lockwood have led High Holiday events at the 92Y, 92YTribeca and other musical spaces. The service will feature plain-sense explanations of the religious aspects of the holiday, prayer and meditation led by Miriam Eisenberger. Tickets and additional information are available here.
