The inaugural Brooklyn Comes Alive festival came to Verboten and Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday night. Marco Benevento highlighted the proceedings at Music Hall of Williamsburg with a superjam that included appearances from Superhuman Happiness, Delicate Steve, Nicole Atkins and Holly Bowling.

Among the highlights were a take on Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good” with Delicate Steve and Nicole Atkins as well as Devo’s “Gates of Steel” with Superhuman Happiness. The set closed with Benevento and Superhuman Happiness on David Bowie’s “Changes.”

Elsewhere, New Orleans guitarist Andrew Block, Soulive/Lettuce guitarist Eric Krasno and Lee Boys pedal steel ace Roosevelt Collier each hosted superjams at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Block’s set featured Nigel Hall, former Funky Meters drummer Russell Batiste and bassist Eric Vogel. Krasno’s core band consisted of Vogel, Hall, bassist Louis Cato, Jen Hartswick and Natalie Cressman. During the set, Marco Benevento, Trey Anastasio Band’s James Casey and 12-year-old guitar prodigy Brandon Niederauer all sat in.

Collier’s band featured Living Colour’s Doug Wimbish and Trey Anastasio Band’s Russ Lawton and Ray Paczkowski . Niederauer returned during the set for another cameo.
