After performing with Pearl Jam at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City, Mike McCready found himself back on stage in Seattle with Chris Cornell as the singer-songwriter continues his tour around his latest solo record, Higher Truth.

Cornell brought the Pearl Jam guitarist out on a pair of tunes he is quite familiar with, Mad Season’s “River of Deceit” and Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike.”

McCready formed Mad Season with Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley as well as Barrett Martin and John Baker Saunders. They were best known for “River of Deceit” and although Staley and Saunders have since passed away, McCready and Martin reunited on stage along with Cornell and Duff McKagan in Seattle recently. Temple of the Dog, famously, was a collaboration between Pearl Jam and Soundgarden following the death of Mother Love Bone vocalist Andy Wood.
