According to Consequence of Sound, LCD Soundsystem are planning to reunite in 2016.

With their three albums from 2005-2010, LCD Soundsystem launched themselves to the forefront of the surging popularity of electronic dance rock. Frontman James Murphy then called it quits with the band and subsequently played a raucous farewell concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2011.

Murphy will reportedly bring back the group after five years, with LCD Soundsystem supposedly slated to perform at a few major music festival throughout the year.

UPDATE:

According to Vulture, this rumor is false. Representatives from DFA, James Murphy’s record label, told the publication that the band will not in fact be getting back together, saying “I’m sure some festivals have offered the group a giant tempting pile of money, but there is no truth to this.”
