Last night at Austin City Limits, Dave Grohl revealed that he and Foo Fighters had recorded five new songs in the Texas capital the night before, then welcomed Austin’s own singer/songwriter Ben Kweller on stage, followed by an appearance by another Texas artist, Gary Clark Jr.

Captured in the video above, courtesy of Space City Shows, Grohl’s crowd banter is on point as he explains how he ran into Kweller while recording and had him sit in on harmonies for one of the songs. Kweller then joined the band on stage for “Big Me.”

Later in the evening, Grohl brought on friend and current tour mate Gary Clark Jr. for “What Did I Do?/God as My Witness” before dedicating the next song, “Monkey Wrench,” to the Texas guitarist. View the collaboration below via MTY 360.
