As John Mayer readies to hit the road with Dead & Company later this month, the guitarist took some time to visit with Zac Brown Band during their show at the Hollywood Bowl in California.

Mayer came out towards the end of the main set to sit in on a pair of covers including Bill Withers’ “Use Me” and “All Along the Watchtower.” The collaboration followed a unique cover of Avicii’s “Broken Arrows,” which the band has played at their last three shows.

The connections between ZBB and Mayer run deep as Clay Cook has worked with Mayer in the past, including on the tune “Neon,” which Zac Brown Band has covered regularly for years. Mayer himself has also sat in numerous times including the band’s Southern Ground Music Festival where they played “Neon” with Mayer as well as Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” “Into the Mystic” and Mayer’s own “Queen of California.”
