The American Roots Music & Arts Festival took place at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC, over the weekend, and filling the two-day lineup were an array of roots and rock artists like Eric Church, Modest Mouse, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Roots, Grace Potter, Edward Sharpe and more.

Warren Haynes was in attendance, playing a set with his Ashes & Dust band to continue their current tour together. The group’s one-set performance featured many of the Ashes & Dust tunes and covers that have been featured so far on tour, including a set-ending cover of The Allman Brothers’ “Blue Sky.”

For the encore, Haynes brought out Mickey Raphael, who plays with fellow festival artist Willie Nelson, to add some harmonica to “Two of Kind Blues.” Raphael, who has been a longtime friend of Haynes’, played on both the demo and album recording for the Ashes & Dust track “Wanderlust.” View the full setlist as it appears in our Box Scores section.
