20 years ago, Fire On The Mountain: Reggae Celebrates the Grateful Dead brought together Reggae artists like Mighty Diamonds, Frederick “Toots” Hibbert, Wailing Souls, Freddie McGregor and more to cover and celebrate the songs of the Grateful Dead.

On November 20, a 20th anniversary edition of the record will be released via Red Hillz Music. The album will feature alternate versions of some of the tracks from the original collection along with extended dub mixes and rare B-sides from the producer’s label.

Two of the new tracks include takes from the “lost” Warren Haynes sessions, featuring a young Haynes adding guitar to Marcia Griffith’s “Shakedown Street” and vocals to The Workingmen’s “Stop That Train.” An extended dub version of Judy Mowatt’s “They Love Each Other” also features Merl Saunders on Hammond B-3 organ.
