Last night, Phil Lesh was joined by some very special Friends at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, for the penultimate performance of his current run at the venue.

The two-set performance included the usual Grateful Dead favorites and classic covers—including a first set closer of New Riders of the Purple Sage’s “Panama Red.”

To round out the second frame, Lesh brought out his son, Grahame, who would be playing an after-show in the building at Garcia’s with his Midnight North band, for “Jack Straw.” Grahame’s bandmate and Midnight North singer/songwriter Elliott Peck then joined the band for a run of Bobby Bland’s “Turn On Your Lovelight” into “Not Fade Away.” Phil and Bob Weir sat in with Midnight North in New York earlier this week.

The elder Lesh was joined for the night by David Nelson, guitarist Barry Sless, Scott Law, drummer John Molo and Jason Crosby. The group returned to the stage for an encore of “Box of Rain.”
