Preteen guitar prodigy Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer scored a chance to perform on a float during The 89th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this morning. TAZ, who has been cast by none other than Andrew Lloyd Webber in the School of Rock musical on Broadway, performed “Zach’s Song” with other members of the cast during the iconic New York parade.

“This is a dream come true as I have watched this every year with my brother Dylan while the turkey is in the oven and my dad makes the stuffed artichokes,“Niederauer wrote on Facebook. “l wanted to be in this parade from the first time I saw it. Thank you Andrew Lloyd Webber. I am very grateful to God for my gifts. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!”

In addition to his Broadway work, Niederauer put together the jamband Lions on the Moon with the help of Col. Bruce Hampton. He has also performed with Gregg Allman, Warren Haynes, Soulive, George Porter Jr. and many others.
