As previously reported, Bob Weir is currently working on an album of cowboy songs with several guest artists, including Josh Ritter, Joe Russo and members of The National and Yellowbirds.

Today, lyricist and longtime Weir collaborator John Perry Barlow posted a picture of himself, Weir and Promise of the Real frontman and son of Willie Nelson Lukas Nelson with the caption “Three Wise Men came together to write a cowboy song today.”

Barlow has been working with Weir and the Grateful Dead since 1971, and together they have penned Dead songs like “Cassidy,” “Mexicali Blues,” “Black Throated Wind,” “Let It Grow,” “The Music Never Stopped” and “Estimated Prophet,” among others.
