Over the weekend, Jonathan Wilson and Mike Campbell presented their annual Merry Minstrel Musical Circus at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA. The night featured Campbell’s band Dirty Knobs along with Dawes, Jackson Browne and a surprise appearance by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

As Jambase reports., this was Petty and his band’s first show of the year. Watch their performance of “Last Dance with Mary Jane” above. Sitting in with Petty was ELO’s Jeff Lynne, along with Dirty Knobs drummer Matt Laug, who filled in for The Heartbreakers’ Steve Ferrone.

Wilson was joined by Duane Betts, Father John Misty and Nikki Lane throughout the night, and Dawes welcomed My Morning Jacket members Jim James and Bo Koster as well. Watch a video of James singing “What You Won’t Do For Love” with Dawes below.
