Jersey boys

Alex Bleeker & the Freaks will host their third-annual post-MSG Phish show this evening. Tonight’s performance will take place at Brooklyn, NY’s Rough Trade at 10:30pm. (Rough Trade Records actually released the original version of Phish’s second album, Lawn Boy, in 1990.) In addition to his steady band, the Real Estate bassist will welcome Darkside guitarist Dave Harrington and Nicolas Jaar collaborator Will Epstein during their show.

The group will weave in a mix of Grateful Dead covers, continuing a theme that started at Relix‘s 40th anniversary celebration this past February. The Freaks released their third studio album, Country Agenda, this fall.

Real Estate released their latest album, Atlas in 2014, but the New Jersey band recently tweeted, “For those wondering, Real Estate is currently in full blown hit writing mode. You think these hits just appear out of thin air?”
