Tomorrow is David Bowie’s 69th birthday, and is also just so happens to be the release date of his 25th studio album, Blackstar. Bowie has already released the epic and haunting title track song and video, and now he has shared the second cut from the album, “Lazarus.”

The video follows in the steps of “Blackstar,” with Bowie appearing in two scenes: one with him dressed in the same bandaged-and-buttoned eyes as the previous video, seemingly stuck in a hospital-like bed, and another where he dances and moves with fitful, exaggerated motions and struggles to write something at his desk while a strange figure hides below. The song, for its part, features a similar feel to the title track, with cutting, velvety horns and Bowie’s searching lyrics building the tune to a bursting high point.

Blackstar is out tomorrow, January 8. Read our review of the album here, and watch the video for “Lazarus” below.
