Bob Weir, Michael Franti and Sammy Hagar joined forces for an acoustic set at the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco. The set was in support of rooftop solar power in California.

Weir, Franti and Hagar teamed up for covers of Franti’s “Sound of Sunshine” as well as “Loose Lucy” (above) a special “Here Comes the Sun” that saw the ensemble march to the California State Building in San Francisco. They closed the set with a take on Franti’s “(Say Hey) I Love You.”

Hagar is currently on the road filming his new AXS TV show Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar, which features Weir as well as Mickey Hart in a Bay Area-themed episode. On the collaboration, Hagar told Ultimate Classic Rock, “Bob Weir, every time I jam with the Dead we do “Loose Lucy,” so it was perfect. Mickey Hart, you go to outer space and we did.” The series premiered last night and will air on Sundays beginning at 9 PM.
