Mike Gordon played the first shows of his solo tour over the weekend, as the Phish bassist was joined by his band of Scott Murawski, Craig Myers, John Kimock and Robert Walter for several debut originals and covers.

On Friday, Gordon and company kicked off the tour at Emo’s in Austin, TX, with a two-set performance that included two debut originals, “Daisy Hill Grove” and “Crazy Sometimes,” along with the debut covers of Robert Walter’s 20th Congress’ “Don’t Chin the Dog” and Garbage’s “#1 Crush.” The show also included Flaming Lips’ “Are You a Hypnotist??” and an encore of Talking Heads’ “Cities.” View the full setlist of the kickoff show below.

The following night at Numbers in Houston, TX, the band debuted a cover of Steve Kimock’s “Mother’s Song.” Kimock’s son, John, is one of the most recent additions to Gordon’s solo band as the new drummer.

Mike Gordon will continue his tour tomorrow at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ. See the full schedule below.
