Tedeschi Trucks Band’s stint at the Chicago Theatre over the weekend saw a callback to the band’s Mad Dogs and the Englishmen set at Lockn’ that saw them pay tribute, along with a host of others, to the late Joe Cocker.

On the first night of the run, the band welcomed out Leon Russell for a pair of tunes from that record including “Darlin’ Be Home Soon” and “Sticks and Stones.”

Also of note is a nod to the late David Bowie, as TTB offered up a cover of Bowie’s “It Ain’t Easy” to kick off the encore of both shows.

TTB’s tour continues tomorrow at the Apollo Theater in New York City with special guest Doyle Bramhall II.
