The Roots’ former bassist Leonard “Hub” Hubbard is suing former bandmates Questlove and Black Thought and the band’s current manager, according to TMZ.

The outlet reports that Hubbard claims the members of the band cut him out of his share of the band’s success after a form of blood cancer forced him to leave the group in 2007. Hubbard joined the band in 1992.

Hubbard claims his deal with the band called for him to continue getting paid as a co-owner but says in the lawsuit that in 2014 he received a letter from a former manager of The Roots threatening he was going to lose his health insurance and his cut of the band’s revenues.
