Last night, Widespread Panic closed out their hometown run at The Classic Center in Athens, GA, with the second of two shows that welcomed back drummer Duane Trucks after the departure of the recently returned Todd Nance.

Throughout their two sets, the band welcomed out producer John Keane, who has worked with Panic in the past and who mixed the 2014 self-titled debut of Hard Working Americans, which features both Trucks and Panic bassist Dave Schools. Keane came out on several tunes and played an array of instruments, including guitar on the opening set closers “Degenerate” and “For What It’s Worth.”

For the second set, Panic and Keane came back onstage with a couple of bustouts, first playing “Fishing” for the first time since April 1, 2014, then digging further back for the first “This Cruel Thing” since January 29, 2012, a span of over four years and 235 shows. Keane also joined the band for the final two songs of the set and came back out to add pedal steel and guitar to the encores “Ain’t Life Grand” and “Fishwater,” respectively.

Panic continue their tour tomorrow night at the Altria Theater in Richmond, VA.
