Plans for a 50th anniversary Woodstock concert appear to be in the works, according to a report by the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Michael Lang, who had a hand in organizing the 1969 version of the festival as well as the two later versions in 1994 and 1999, told the Journal that discussions are under way with potential partners and locations are being explored. Lang also noted that he foresees an annual festival with the Woodstock name continuing beyond the 50th anniversary.

“With the prevalence of festivals out there, and all the excitement about them, maybe it’s time for that,” Lang said. Woodstock’s 1969 event drew the likes of the Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and others while the later versions in 1994 were held in Saugerties, NY and in Rome, NY in 1999.
