Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman and Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo reunited their voice and guitar last night as Ween returned to the stage to kick off their reunion tour at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO.
Along with bassist Dave Dreiwitz, keyboardist Glenn McClelland and drummer Claude Coleman Jr., Gener and Deaner played an epic 33-song performance to the sold-out crowd. The concert marked the first Ween appearance since New Year’s Eve 2011.
The group opened up with “What Deaner Was Talkin’ About” and filled the set with classics like “Bananas and Blow,” “Spinal Meningitis,” “Roses Are Free,” “A Tear for Eddie” and “Mister Richard Smoker.” Watch a video for “Tear” above, via YouTube user Tara Cushing.
Ween closed out their opening gig with a two-song encore of “Fiesta” into “Buenas Tardes Amigo.” Watch a video of the final tunes and view the full setlist below. Ween continue their reunion run when they return to the 1st Band Center tonight.
