Gary Louris and Marc Perlman have been with The Jayhawks since the band started its career in the mid-‘80s, and this spring, the veteran musicians are coming out with their first album since 2011.

Paging Mr. Proust will be released on April 29 and will feature the reunited Jayhawks lineup of Louris, Perlman, Tim O’Reagan, Karen Grotberg and Kraig Johnson. Louris produced the effort along with REM’s Peter Buck and Tucker Martine, who has worked with The Decemberists, Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket.

Craig Finn of The Hold Steady, who says he’s been a Jayhawks fan since the beginning (the band started in his hometown of Minneapolis), penned a lengthy bio/review of the album, which can be read here.
