AURA Music Festival took place this weekend in Live Oak, FL, headlined by jamband mainstays like The Disco Biscuits, ALO, Heavy Pets, Turkuaz, American Babies and others.

As expected, collaborations came early and often as ALO highlighted their set by inviting ROAR’s Carly Meyers and Adam Gertner on stage for “Cowboys & Chorus Girls” about midway through their set.

Greenhouse Lounge gave their final performance as a group and marked the occasion by rotating through their three past drummers including Scotty Zwang, Jason Hunnicut and Rayland Felts. Each drummer played a pair of tunes with Rayland closing it out.

Phish pianist sensation Holly Bowling joined Pink Talking Fish on their closing take on “Weekapaug Groove” which emerged out of “Once in a Lifetime.” Meanwhile, Jen Hartswick and Natalie Cressman sat in with virtuoso group Snarky Puppy on “Quartermaster.” Mike Dillon also joined the band for “Gx.”

The Heavy Pets (along with special guests Bob Smiely, Danny Naval, Jen Hartswick and Natalie Cressman) threw an 80s party with a tribute set that included takes on Prince’s “1999,” Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” the Grateful Dead’s “Touch of Grey” and numerous others. Mark Mineo and Ben Smiley joined in for Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” before Mike Dillon added to “Rock the Casbah.” For A Flock of Seagulls’ “I Ran,” Daryl Wolff joined in on keytar.

The set closed with the Talking Heads’ “Naive Melody (This Must Be the Place)” and R.E.M.‘s “It’s The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine).”
