Dave Matthews issued a statement on the passing of Chip Hooper, the longtime booking agent for the band along with Phish and many others.

In a statement, Matthews said that Hooper “could shine a light on the best things about a person.” He added, “He always made me feel worthwhile. He always made you want to do more, and work harder, and believe that you could. He was one of the most generous people I have ever known. I think he made the world a better place.”

Many others remembered Hooper following his passing on March 6. Trey Anastasio commented that Hooper “felt more like a brother than a booking agent,” adding that he was a “genuinely beautiful soul.”
