Last night, The String Cheese Incident kicked off their three-night run at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas with a show featuring a slew of covers including a never-before-played Bob Marley tune.

The first set featured String Cheese originals like “Rhythm of the Road,” after which the band’s two live albums are named. The most recent one, which came out just last fall, was recorded in Las Vegas. The first frame of the night also included the first of two Marley covers in “Could You Be Loved” before set-closer “Stop Drop Roll,” which was debuted by the band last summer.

The second set kicked off with the Cheese staple “Rosie” with Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” stuck in the middle, and also featured the first “Seventh Step” since winter 2014. The tune is off keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth’s 2004 solo debut, Never Odd or Even, and had only been played twice before by the group. The second set was closed out by the band’s debut of Marley’s “Soul Shakedown Party,” and the night was rounded out with an encore performance of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody).”

The String Cheese Incident continue their Brooklyn Bowl Vegas run with a second of three shows tonight.
