Yesterday, jamgrass outfit Greensky Bluegrass pulled double duty in Seattle, WA, first opening up a rally for presidential Bernie Sanders at SafeCo Field then playing two sets at The Showbox in the evening.

Blues Traveler frontman John Popper joined the Michigan band for both outings, taking over vocals and lending his harmonica to BT tunes “Run Around” and “Hook” to close out the rally performance. Popper rejoined the band later in the night for a couple of first-set songs including the Grateful Dead’s “Mr. Charlie,” and saxophonist Skerik then came onstage for most of the second set.

Greensky continue their tour tonight at the McDonald Theater in Eugene, OR, with openers the Shook Twins.
