Joe Russo’s Almost Dead wrapped up a three night run at their home venue of Brooklyn Bowl last night with another show sprinkled with debuts and special guests for the band, which returned to its original lineup after Dave Dreiwitz returned from his reunion stint with Ween.

Among the highlights last night include an Almost Dead debut of “Mason’s Children” which they previously performed as PhilRAD at the Capitol Theatre with Phil Lesh. Following that performance, Katie Jacoby joined the group on violin for “Friend of the Devil” and also appeared following “St. Stephen” later in the set for the conclusion of the “Terrapin Station” suite started on the previous night.

The second set was full of Almost Dead staples like “The Wheel,” which also included a snippet of Tom Hamilton’s American Babies’ “Joeline,” which he led the band through before returning to “The Wheel.” Hamilton and Scott Metzger traded off leading the band through tunes like “He’s Gone,” “Estimated Prophet,” “Eyes of the World” and a finale of “Music Never Stopped” before the band departed for the encore break.

During the break, venue owner and Relix/Jambands.com Publisher Peter Shapiro took to the mic to present the band with a sword engraved with the date of their first show at the Brooklyn Bowl (January 26, 2013) and “knighted” each member of the group with the help of the audience. The band then returned for the appropriate “One More Saturday Night” encore closer.
