The Disco Biscuits closed out their run at the Capitol Theatre this weekend with a pair of notable performances after the first night saw the band debut a cover of “She’s a Bad Mama Jama.”

The band nodded to a pair of current musical events on Saturday night, first with a cover of LCD Soundsystem’s “Home” in the second set. The James Murphy-led project made their highly anticipated return to the stage on Sunday night in New York City.

To kick off the encore, the band nodded to the late Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest by working in “Check the Rhime,” the first single from the band’s landmark record The Low End Theory and one of the more recognizable Phife Dawg Tribe songs in the catalog. A sample of the song was incorporated into their encore opener “Caves of the East.”

Next up for the Biscuits is a show on April 21 at Terminal West in Atlanta, GA.
