Bob Weir was over the moon in describing John Mayer’s playing on Dead & Company’s first tour in a recent Relix interview. When asked if he thought Mayer helped in the Grateful Dead legacy to a younger generation, Weir broke some pretty big news.

“Since John has been kind enough to learn our music, it’s about time we reciprocate,” the guitarist explained. “I’m not just talking about the hits. There are some little nuggets in that catalog. Let me reiterate: John Mayer has some little nuggets.”

While Weir provided no additional specific details, sources suggest that Dead & Co. will dig in and deliver Mayer’s 2001 debut, Room for Squares in its entirety at the event.

Dead & Co. boosters expressed immediate support via Twitter, comparing the Room for Squares material with such fan faves as “Day Job,” “Wave to the Wind,” “From The Heart Of Me” and “Money Money.”

Jacqueline Straw, who tossed off a series of effusive tweets later sent a Direct Message to Relix sharing her theory regarding the origins of the song “Your Body is A Wonderland.” Straw explained, “For years people have speculated that the song is about Jennifer Love Hewitt or Jennifer Aniston or one of those other people on the cover of US magazine who I don’t recognize. But that’s all wrong. Listen closely, he’s actually singing “Your Bobby is a wonderland.”
