Earlier this week Father John Misty announced plans to gather Catholic cardinals, bishops and theologians in Cleveland this summer to discuss doctrine, dogma and dystopia. He is billing it as a follow-up to 1965’s Second Vatican Council and his own 2015 album, I Love You, Honeybear.

Should none of the ecumenical elites attend (so far his appeals for a Google Hangout remain unheeded), J. Tillman told Relix, that he will instead honor a recent dream conversation with Lou Reed and ditch the doctrine and dogma in favor of dystopia. Thus the inaugural MopeFest will take place, featuring a special one-time-only reunion of The Smiths as well as the special musical stylings of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Additional acts include noted depressing crooners The National, Dawes, Ray LaMontagne, Death Cab for Cutie, Jenny Lewis, Lana Del Rey, The Antlers, Bon Iver and more.

While Tillman won’t be performing, he will lead nightly motivational talks at the conclusion of music each night.

Sarah McLaughlan will host a special Superjam on Saturday night, December 10, where the cast of musicians will score her famed animal cruelty commercials. Other festival amenities include a hub for late night performances dubbed The Cry Corner, featuring a special collaborative acoustic set from Ryan Adams and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.
