Pearl Jam continued their tour with a stop at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL, their first at the home of the Miami Heat. Eddie Vedder took some time early in the set to thank the venue workers and the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, who formally invited the band to play the venue (Heat forward Chris Bosh also hung out with the band pre-show and PJ bassist Jeff Ament attended the band’s game against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night).

Out of the 30 songs played, 21 served as tour debuts on the second night of the run, with the rarest of those coming in the form of “W.M.A.,” “Sad,” “Down” and “Soldier of Love,” which hadn’t been performed since 2010.

During the first encore, Eddie Vedder debuted a special cover of Cat Power’s “Good Woman.” Vedder remarked that Chan Marshall (Cat Power) sang on his 2011 solo record Ukelele Songs on the tune “Tonight You Belong to Me.” Shortly after, the group delivered just the fifth cover of Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” in their history, with the last coming on their Latin America tour finale in Mexico City.

Next up for the band is a show in Tampa, FL tomorrow night.
