LCD, Heroes. Just for one day. #bowie #lcdsoundsystem

Last night at California’s Coachella Music Festival, newly reunited group LCD Soundsystem paid homage to one of their heroes before nodding to another big-name reunion at the festival.

First, frontman James Murphy led the group through David Bowie’s “Heroes” during their set. Murphy had worked with the legendary musician on two of his last albums, including Bowie’s farewell record Blackstar. Watch clips of the performance above and below (via Consequence of Sound).

LCD wasn’t finished with the covers, however, as they took time out of playing their classic “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” to stick in an interlude of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.” The also recently reunited GNR are on the Coachella bill as well.
