Gov’t Mule helped kick off the first weekend of New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival yesterday with a performance at the fairgrounds that featured a nod to the late legend Prince and a guest spot from Grace Potter.
Potter, who had played with her band earlier in the day, came onstage for a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman,” the song on which Potter collaborated with Warren Haynes for his recent solo album Ashes & Dust.
Later in the set, Gov’t Mule paid homage to Prince with his “When Doves Cry” interlaced with “Beautifully Broken.” Potter had covered “Doves” earlier in the day during her set as well. See the full Mule setlist below.
