Following Prince’s untimely death at the age of 57, the task of sorting out his posthumous possessions begins and according to the AP, Prince’s sister says that the musician had no known will and she has filed paperwork to be appointed executor.

Minnesota Intestate Succession laws state that if you die without a will, your assets will go to your closest relative. Additionally, only asset that would have passed through your will are affected by intestate succession laws.

Tyka Nelson, Prince’s sister, is his only surviving full sibling. In her filing, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Nelson says that an emergency exists because immediate action is necessary to manage Prince’s business interests. THR estimates that there are roughly $27 million in property alone.

In the wake of Prince’s death has come a slew of allegations regarding drug use, as TMZ reported last week that the musician had overdosed on Percocet just days before his death.

There are also reports that Prince was awake for six straight days before he was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park Estate on April 21. An autopsy on the musician was performed last week before his body was cremated in a private ceremony.
