Last night’s Neil Young and Promise of the Real show saw the band pay tribute to the late Merle Haggard with the help of Willie Nelson.

As Jambase reports, the band’s tour opener at Whitewater Amphitheatre in New Braunfels, TX was highlighted by Nelson joining the band, which features his sons Lukas and Micah, for Young’s own “Are There Any More Real Cowboys?” which served as a debut for the group.

Following that, the ensemble paid homage to Merle Haggard with his own “Okie from Muskogee.” Haggard passed away on April 6 on his 79th birthday due to complications from pneumonia.
