The Otis Redding Foundation has announced that it will be hosting a weekend of festivities in Macon, GA, surrounding the 75th birthday of soul legend Otis Redding on September 9–11.

The weekend will start off with the announcement of “Otis Redding Day” in Macon on September 9 paired with several events around the city, where the foundation is headquartered.

To round out the events, there will be a tribute concert dubbed “An Evening of Respect” at the Macon City Auditorium headlined by St. Paul and the Broken Bones. Also performing will be The Reddings, which features Otis Redding’s sons Dexter and Otis III, and more. Tickets for the show will go on sale this Saturday, May 14.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Otis Redding Foundation, whose “mission is to empower, enrich, and motivate all young people through programs involving music, writing and instrumentation.”
