Dead & Company marked their return to the stage last night with a special free show at The Fillmore in San Francisco. As reports seemed to indicate, Sammy Hagar would be among the guests joining the band on this night, as the Red Rocker turned up at rehearsals earlier in the week.

Hagar came out for “Loose Lucy,” a familiar tune for him as he has performed the song previously with various Weir projects including RatDog as well as at TRI Studios with Lukas Nelson, Weir and others.

Other notables from the show included a cover of Dylan’s “Queen Jane Approximately,” a nod to the music icon and Dead collaborator’s 75th birthday, which occurs today.

Dead & Co will kick off their tour June 10 in Charlotte, NC.
