Last night at Irving Plaza in New York City, a shooting claimed the life of one man and injured three others as rapper T.I. was set to take the stage.

As The New York Times reports, the victims included three men and one woman. One of the men, 33, died from his injuries. The police report that the shots were fired in a third-floor green room while the opening act was performing onstage.

“Right when he was about to go on I heard two gunshots, and right after, there was a stampede,” Ayo Fagbemi, a student who was attending the concert, tells the Times. “There were at least three rounds, but after the second one was when people started running.”

Concert-goers, who had to pass through a metal detector at the venue’s doors upon entering the building, report witnessing a backstage fight that moved onto the stage before another fight broke out on the audience floor, just before the shots rang out. Police are unclear as to who was in the green room at the time of the shootings, and no arrests have been made as of yet.

A Twitter user caught a short video of the ensuing confusion from the Irving Plaza balcony.
