Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie announced last week that he had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer before the band revealed a run of summer tour dates starting June 22 after the release of their new album, Man Machine Poem on June 17. Now, the group has added some tour dates to that run due to “overwhelming demand,” along with a slew of fan complaints that tickets, which went on sale yesterday morning, were bought up by site bots like StubHub before they could purchase them online.

As CBC News reports, StubHub released a statement about the tour, noting their previous charitable donations and saying, “As a free and open marketplace, StubHub is committed to ensuring fans have access to buy and sell tickets to the events they want to see.”

Pre-sale for the new dates, which can be seen below, go on sale today, May 31, at 10am local time. Listen to a recent interview with Relix editor-in-chief Dean Budnick about why it’s so hard to get tickets in today’s ticket market here, and see a couple choice fan Tweets concerning the online ticketing game below.
