Death Cab for Cutie and CHVRCHES have released a statement outlining their plan to turn their upcoming shows in North Carolina into benefit concerts to battle HB2, the controversial “bathroom law.”

The two bands will be playing a show together in Charlotte, NC, on June 16, and Death Cab will play a solo concert in Asheville on June 11, and now the two concerts will help benefit North Carolina-based organizations, the Freedom Center for Social Justice and Southerners On New Ground.

Speaking out against what they call a “dangerous law” but expressing support for those who have already cancelled concerts in the state, the statement reflect the bands’ love for North Carolina and their fans in the area.
