The National returned to the stage on Friday night at the Welcome to Hamilton Festival in Ontario. The ten-song set included two new songs, “Hague Blue” and “The Day I Die,” marking the first sign of new music from the band as they move closer to the release of their forthcoming record.

In addition, the band once again delivered their rendition of “Peggy-O,” one of two tracks the band contributed to the Dessners Day of the Dead compilation. Watch the band play the tune on CBS This Morning here.

Last night, the band played a more extended set in Toronto, including the two new songs as well as cuts from their back catalog. Tonight the band will head to Houston for a slot at Free Press Summer Festival.
