Dead & Company returned to the stage last night at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC, for only their second show of the year and the first of their summer tour run.

As previously reported, Dead & Co released a statement ahead of the show addressing the recent controversial HB2 “bathroom law” that was passed by North Carolina, calling the bill “abhorrent” and pledging to donate $100,000 to North Carolina organizations helping to promote equality in the state.

In that vein, the band brought out a couple of appropriate tunes for the night, spreading the good word of equality and togetherness with “They Love Each Other” in the first set and, later, a concert-closing run of “Turn On Your Love Light.”

Also notable in the performance was the first Dead & Co performance of “Liberty,” a tune that first surfaced in the Dead catalog in the ’90s. See the full setlist from last night below.

Dead & Company will continue their tour tomorrow evening with two headlining sets at Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo.
