In a lengthy note posted to the band’s Facebook page, The String Cheese Incident detailed their new music-releasing method in the form of the “SCI Sound Lab.”

Essentially, the band will use this platform to release new music and have launched Volume One with three new tracks recorded with Jerry Harrison, who produced their latest Song in My Head. Streaming now, the compilation includes first time recordings of Michael Kang’s “Believe” and Bill Nershi’s “Down A River” along with the more familiar “Sweet Spot” by Keith Moseley.

The band notes, “We have six more studio tracks we recorded with Jerry that will be coming out very soon. But, the SCI Sound Lab is intended to be a place where we can continue to experiment with a wide array of different recording concepts. One day, we might put up demos of new songs we are working on. The next, we might put up some dance remixes of previously released songs. We will also be going into the archives to find some band selected live material.”

The String Cheese Incident will return to the road next weekend at Electric Forest.
