As previously reported, Butch Walker will release his latest Stay Gold on August 26 to follow up 2015’s Afraid of Ghosts produced by Ryan Adams. After premiering the first single “East Coast Girls” along with the album announcement, Walker has now premiered the title track from his forthcoming record.

On the track, Walker tells Rolling Stone that the song “is about being from a shit-dead-end-town and not having a glimmer of hope.” He continues, “I wanted this record to somehow spin all of those negative stories into a positive light. It came from the S.E. Hinton novel and, later, a Coppola film, The Outsiders — ‘Stay gold, Ponyboy’ was the big line.”

Walker will support the record with a tour that kicks off August 17 in Orlando, FL. Consult his full schedule below.
