The Allen Toussaint Band will hold a couple of New York tributes to their late namesake this weekend, with special guest vocalists plucked straight out of the New Orleans music scene in which Toussaint made his name.
On Saturday, June 25, Irma Thomas, Cyril Neville and bandleader Deacon John will join the Allen Toussaint Band at New York’s Lincoln Center for a concert in honor of the late great songwriter. More information on the show is available here.
The following day, on Sunday, June 26, Thomas and Neville will again join members of the Allen Toussaint Band for another tribute at New York’s Joe’s Pub.
