Primus drummer Tim Alexander is reportedly “at home and doing well” after suffering a second heart attack earlier in the week, as first reported by Diffuser.

Alexander broke the news with a pair of Instagram posts detailing the events. The drummer noted that he “did not think this could happen after having a triple bypass almost exactly 2 years ago.”

Alexander also noted that he is “overwhelmed with sadness not because of the fact that I could die but that I would have to say goodbye to my family. It can happen at any moment, and remember IT WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY so tell the people in your life you love them. Enjoy the days you have with them, they are limited. We are all here for a short time.”

The drummer suffered his first heart attack in 2014 shortly before Les Claypool made plans to reunite the classic Primus lineup that also included Larry Lalonde. Tool drummer Danny Carey filled in for Alexander before his return to the band just three months after his surgery.
